Doug McCoy was elected President-elect of the American Counsel Association for the 2006-2007 year at the ACA's annual meeting held in August in Honolulu. The American Counsel Association is an organization dedicated to providing a forum for the professional and social interaction of experienced lawyers. Founded in 1930, the ACA also awards two financial scholarships each year to academically gifted and financially need law students. The American Counsel Association's membership includes lawyers from all 50 states of the United States as well as members of the bars of Canada and England.
Mr. McCoy is a partner in the law firm of Hand Arendall where he practices primarily in the fields of commercial litigation, including trade secret and non-compete disputes, financing fraud litigation, securities and broker/customer litigation and arbitration, corporate control litigation, insurance fraud and coverage claims litigation, as well as in the areas of class action litigation and estate litigation.
